MEMPHIS, TN--A man wanted for several business robberies in Memphis is now behind bars. And police say Nashville Police want to question the same guy about a murder there.
Safe Street Task Force investigators have charged Jason Ward, 32, with four counts of aggravated robbery in connection to business robberies, primarily at convenience stores in Memphis between the end of March to mid April.
Police believe the release of surveillance videos to local media outlets helped identify the suspect. The surveillance videos were from robberies at two separate Circle K convenience stores in the Midtown area. Police say in both incidents, Ward demanded money from the register, and robbed a customer.
Investigators believe Ward may be responsible for more robberies in the Memphis area. He is currently being held at the Shelby County Jail on an $800,000 bond. Police in Nashville were also searching for the suspect in connection to a homicide in their jurisdiction. Metro detectives announced they will be in Memphis this week to follow up on the murder investigation.
