MEMPHIS, TN – Memphis police are working car wrecks on Walnut Grove Road that are causing traffic backups on Germantown Parkway and Walnut Grove Road.
According to Memphis police spokesperson Karen Rudolph, traffic is backed up on Germantown Parkway from Walnut Grove Road to Dexter Road. Rudolph says three traffic lights are out on Germantown Parkway. A wreck at the intersection of Walnut Grove and Germantown is a major cause of the backup. MPD’s traffic officers are working to relieve the congestion until the traffic lights can be fixed.
Two wrecks have also been reported on Walnut Grove, West of Germantown.
Memphis police are asking people to avoid these areas and take alternate routes if possible.
