MEMPHIS, TN – Memphis police say the body of a teenage girl was found at Mt. Moriah and I-240.

According to investigators, 18 year-old Wajonel De Silva’s body was found on the eastbound lane of Mt. Moriah Road, near the ramp to the interstate, around 8:00 a.m., Sunday, December 14, 2008.

Detectives believe Silva was hit by a car. Investigators say they do not have any solid leads and are waiting for the results of an autopsy. The 18 year-old was wearing a white top, a green and blue jacket and blue jeans when she was found.

Police are asking anyone who may have seen Wajonel De Silva before 8:00 a.m. on Sunday to call Crime Stoppers at (901) 528-CASH or the Traffic Bureau at (901) 636-4600.
