KINGSPORT, Tenn. (AP) -- A Florida man wanted for violation of the state's sex offender registry has been arrested in Kingsport.
The Kingsport Times-News reported that 40 year-old Kenneth Eugene Joseph has been living in the same apartment building for seven years when the property manager decided to check his background after a complaint from another resident.
Joseph, who had Florida identification, was convicted of unlawful sexual activity with a minor between 16 and 17 years old. The last time he registered on the state's sex offender list was in 1998.
Kingsport police arrested Joseph over the weekend on a fugitive from justice charge. He is being held in the Blountville jail.
