Memphis, Tenn. – Memphis police investigators say an October 22, 2009 shooting in east Memphis was justified.
The officers answered a burglary alarm in the 200 block of Eastland around 11:15 a.m. When they went to check the rear of the home, investigators say two dogs charged them Investigators say both officers drew their weapons and fired 1 round. Officers said they were not told that dogs were on the premises.
The officers say one dog ran into the home through a doggie door and other one ran away. Homeowner, Anna Bolton, was contacted and came home.
One dog named “Bing” was hit and taken to the vet. He is expected to be okay. The other dog, “Violet”, ran away and was found a few days later hiding under a neighbor’s porch.
