HERNANDO, Miss. (AP) -- The future of three Hernando police officers may be decided Tuesday night when city officials meet to discuss whether to reinstate or fire the lawmen who were suspended after they were accused of playing golf while on duty.
Mayor Chip Johnson said the matter would be discussed by the city's board in executive session but that the decision would be made announced in open session.
The excursion was to have happened at a golf course in Sardis on President's Day, February 16.
The three officers, whose names have not been made public, reportedly were scheduled to drive patrol cars to Sardis for maintenance work that day.
