MEMPHIS, TN - The owner of three pit bulls is charged with aggravated assault, after his dogs attacked a Cordova woman and her dog.
Andre Robinson, 33, was cited on Thursday, Oct. 29, 2009 by animal control officers for not having his animals vaccinated and for allowing them to run loose.
Victim Helen Marshall was bitten more than 50 times on her arms and legs, while walking her dog, Skye, past Robinson's home in the 8600 block of Oak Trail Lane. Marshall was taken to the Regional Medical Center. Her dog, Skye, was also injured during the attack and was taken to an animal hospital.
After the attack, Robinson signed over custody of the pit bulls to the Memphis Animal Shelter, where the dogs will be put down.
Robinson is being held at the Shelby County Jail on a $500,000 bond. He will be in court for the citation charges on November 16. A court date for the aggravated assault charge has not been set.
Marshall is recovering at home. Skye remains in the animal hospital.
