MEMPHIS, TN - A Brunswick man died from injuries late Thursday night, November 19, 2009, after being struck by a vehicle as he walked near his home.

Sheriff’s Office Traffic Investigators say Robert Jones, 56, who lived at 4582 Independent, was walking south on Brunswick Road near Independent Road about 6 p.m. when he stepped into the path of an SUV heading north driven by Eva Rousseau, of Arlington.

Jones died from his injuries at the Regional Medical Cente.

Deputies say no charges will be filed against Rousseau because eyewitnesses say there was no way she could have avoided hitting Jones. Investigators say Jones was wearing dark clothing and there are no street lights in the area.
