BARTLETT, TN -- Bartlett is filled with the sound of chainsaws. People are cleaning up where one of two tornadoes touched down last Friday.

Several homes were damaged near the intersection of Elmore Road and Bartlett Road. Crews used saws and cranes to clean up a big mess at a home on South Lake Oaks Drive.

One of Bill Schroeppel's second floor rooms used to be an office, but now he calls it his “nature room”. Two trees crashed in through his roof, one smashing all the way through a first floor bathroom.

Down the street, Cassandra Osborn’s roof is covered with a black tarp after five trees fell on her roof.

"We heard everything hit the house and I thought the roof was going to cave in," says Osborn. "It cracked the beam and the skylight. It was a mess."

Bartlett Mayor Keith McDonald reports about 50 homes were damaged by Friday's storm.

If you live in Memphis, you may place storm debris at the curb for collection by the city. Officials say solid waste management crews will be working overtime to pick it up on regular collection days. Curbside collections may be delayed during the next few days because of the volume of debris.
