BENTON, Ark. (AP) -- A 56-year-old Hensley man and the mother of a teenage girl have been arrested after the girl told authorities she had been prostituted to the man.
Stephen Bradford has been arrested on felony charges of rape and endangering the welfare of a minor, while the mother, who also lives in Hensley, has been arrested on a felony charge of permitting the abuse of a minor.
A police report indicates the girl told authorities that the abuse began when she was 8 and continued into her teenage years. The girl told police the sex was traded for money, drugs and a vehicle.
The investigation began earlier this week, after the girl crashed her car and was arrested on a charge of driving while intoxicated. While in custody, she revealed details of the abuse.
