OMAHA, Neb. (AP) -- A 17-year-old from Mississippi who last year helped a young Elkhorn man beat and stomp his father to death has pleaded guilty.
Colton Novascone of Byhalia, Miss., faces 55 years in prison when he's sentenced in April.
He had originally been charged with murder and conspiracy. After a deal with prosecutors, he pleaded guilty on Monday to criminal conspiracy and second-degree assault.
Novascone said he hit Brian Carson with a pipe wrench as part of an attack orchestrated by Carson's son, 19-year-old Ryan Carson. Authorities say Ryan Carson wanted to kill his father because his father was having sex with Ryan's girlfriend, Nicole Walker.
Walker is among eight people who have been prosecuted in the case.
