CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (AP) -- Gunfire at a Chattanooga playground where children were playing nearby left one man dead and another wounded.
Police said 28-year-old Antonio Green was shot in the upper chest and was pronounced dead Thursday afternoon at a hospital. Twenty-nine-year-old Artie Watson was treated for gunshots in the leg and hand.
Police say a man told investigators that Green and Watson attempted to rob him and another man pulled out a handgun and started shooting as others playing basketball yelled to children on the playground to go inside.
Edward Jackson III has been charged with criminal homicide. Watson has been charged with attempted aggravated robbery.
A jailer said records do not show if the men have hired lawyers.
