MEMPHIS, TN-- A Memphis man is stabbed to death over $3.

Cops say 49 year-old Grady Williamson was robbed by three teenagers as he walked home from a store in Jacksonville.

Everything about this story is heartbreaking. Grady did not have life insurance, so his family is now struggling to raise money for funeral services. They say they never expected something like this to happen.

“For a family member to go to the store and tell you they're coming right back, and then you find out they're murdered in cold blood for three dollars? It's senseless. It's crazy” says Diana Lewis, sister of Grady Williamson.

Diana Lewis says her big brother was always looking out for others. He had gone to Jacksonville to take care of their disabled mother who lives there.

“He'd give anybody the shirt off his back. That's just how he was. Everybody loved him because if he came in the room, in the house, in the building, there was going to be joy.”

Grady's life was cut short late last week. Investigators say three teenagers approached him to rob him for gas money.

All they got away with was the three dollars in Grady's wallet.

Diana says sadly, her brother probably would've helped them out if they had only asked.

“There's no doubt. He would've given them the money” says Lewis. “If they needed something, he'd have found somebody he knew to say these kids need something, y'all help them out. He'd actually even brought them home and fed them.”

The teens-- ages 15, 16 and 17-- now could face life in prison.

Diana says she often thinks about their parents.

“They are juveniles. Somebody has to held responsible for kids’ actions.”

Police say the boys have already confessed to the crime.
When asked if an apology from these teens would help, Diana said this--

“It won't do any good. It's not going to bring him back.”

An account has been set up to help Grady's family with the funeral expenses. It’s a VyStar account and the number is 702805998.

Services for Grady Williamson will be held in Coldwater, Mississippi. The funeral is Saturday at 1:00 p.m. at the West Antioch Baptist Church.

The three teens in this case are charged with murder and armed robbery. Police believe the juveniles may be connected to other crimes in the Jacksonville area.
