MEMPHIS, TN – Memphis police say a man is accused of raping a 12-year-old boy.
It happened Tuesday, June 23, 2009. According to a court document, the 12-year-old and his 9-year-old brother were visiting 53-year-old Carlton Carter when the crime happened.
The 12-year-old told his mother that he was sleeping when he felt someone feeling all over his body, the court document states. The boy then says Carter told him to go into Carter’s bedroom and close the door. Carter told the 12-year-old to take off his pants, at which time the boy was raped, according to the court document.
Investigators say at some point during the rape, the 9-year-old brother walked in the room and witnessed the crime.
53-year-old Carlton Carter has been charged with rape of a child.
