MEMPHIS, TN -- The Shelby County Medical Examiner’s Office released autopsy reports in the murder of a Bartlett model and the 21 year-old man accused of killing her, then committing suicide.

Austin Agee, 21, is accused of killing 29 year-old Lisa Renee Davis after going out with a group of friends.

Davis was reported missing, Sunday, March 8, 2009, after she did not show up for work at Bumpus Harley-Davidson. Police say Davis and a group of four friends had gone to Beale Street Saturday night. According to investigators, 21 year-old Austin Agee was a newcomer to the group of friends. Police described Agee as an acquaintance of Davis and say she had only known him for just a short period of time.

During questioning, Bartlett police say the friends told investigators they, including Agee, dropped off Davis at her home in the 6500 block of Luxury Cove around 2:00 a.m., Sunday. Bartlett detectives say they went to check on Davis after she was reported missing. Detectives had to break into the home because the doors were locked. Investigators say there were no signs that anyone forced their way inside, but found blood in the entryway of the house.

Investigators say when they questioned 21 year-old Agee about Davis’ disappearance, detectives did not believe he was telling them everything he knew, based on the way he was acting.

Bartlett police went to Agee’s home in the 6700 block of Palomino Drive, Tuesday, March 10, around 2:00 p.m., in Lakeland to question him further. Police say Agee’s mother answered the door and then went to his bedroom to get him for investigators. Detectives say they heard a scuffle and then a gunshot. When investigators ran to Agee’s bedroom, they found him dead from a gunshot wound.

The Shelby County Medical Examiner’s Autopsy report says Agee had shot himself in the head with a 12-gauge shotgun. The report says Agee’s mother and 16 year-old sister witnessed his suicide. The report went on to say Agee was in the last stages of kidney failure and that he had already had one kidney transplant.

According to detectives, a note was found in his room that told investigators Davis’ body could be found in a nearby field, where Agee would often ride his 4-wheeler. They say the note also said he was “sorry” and things just “got out of hand”. Police would not release any other details about the note other than to say it was short.

Police found Davis’ body just one block from Palomino Drive in Lakeland. Investigators would only say that she had been there since late Saturday night or early Sunday morning and was covered with a camouflage jacket and brush.

According to Davis’ autopsy report, she was severely beaten and shot at least twice. The report states she was shot once in the chest and once in the head. Davis also had cuts, scrapes and bruises all over her body, spanning from her head to her legs. The report says Davis had no alcohol or drugs in her body at the time of her death.

Bartlett detectives say they believe Agee returned to Davis’ home after he was dropped off by the group of friends.

In a statement released by Bartlett police, Thursday, April 23, 2009, investigators say although the medical examiner’s office released the final report, the investigation is ongoing. Detectives are still waiting for the test results of evidence that was sent to the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation.
