Memphis, TN - The city of Memphis is cutting down hours at some of the public golf courses in an effort to save money. Starting Monday, 6 courses will begin opening 4 day a week, instead of 7. The city administrator of golf operations, Paul Evans, says the move will save about $500,000 a year in part-time salaries. Chemicals used of the courses will also be cut by about $60,000, and equipment will be cut by about $80,000.

Davy Crockett (Closed Monday, Wednesday, Thursday)Fox Meadows (Closed Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday)Overton (Closed Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday)Pine Hill (Closed Monday, Tuesday, Thursday)Whitehaven (Closed Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday)Riverside (Closed Monday, Tuesday, Thursday)The courses will all remain open on weekends. The Galloway and Audubon golf courses will stay open all seven days.
