ARLINGTON, TN – Three high school students have been accused of vandalizing a teacher’s car.

According to court documents, an Arlington High School teacher called police and said that his car had been vandalized, Monday, May 18, 2009. Officers stated in the court documents that many stickers and a decorative skull had been super glued to his car. The original hubcaps had been stolen off of the 2001 Pontiac Sunfire and replaced with plastic spinner hubcaps that were also super glued to the car.

Police say the damage to the car has been estimated at $600 and the original hub caps are still missing.

While officers were investigating the crime, they found an AutoZone receipt near the car with warranty information in the name of Joshua Smith. Officers say some of the items used in the vandalism were listed on the receipt. During the investigation, officers received a copy of the AutoZone surveillance video and were able to identify the other two students who were with Smith.

The teacher told investigators that Smith had been saying, the week before, that he was going to super glue chrome hubcaps to the teacher’s car.

Joshua Smith, Clinton G. Ellenburg and Ernest F. Campbell have been charged with theft of property under $500 and vandalism with damages between $500 to $1,000.
