HORN LAKE, MS - The DeSoto County Sheriff says right now there isn't a law banning shooting in residential areas, and he thinks that should change.

Sheriff Bill Rasco says his office has received many complaints lately about people shooting near homes.

Rasco says the proposal is in its early stages, but the DeSoto County Board of Supervisors is discussing the issue.

Gun owners say as long as people are safe, there shouldn't be restrictions on where you can target practice.

Some cities within DeSoto County have their own rules, the county does not.
