MARSHALL COUNTY, MS – Investigators say 9 year-old Darius Finley was shot and killed inside his home while his father was outside cutting the grass. It happened in Red Banks, Mississippi. That’s just south of Byhalia.

The Marshall County Sheriff’s Department tells myEyewitnessNews.com that Finley and his 11 year-old stepbrother were arguing over a video game. That’s when Finley went into his father’s closet and grabbed a shotgun. Investigators then say Finley loaded the gun and pointed it at his stepbrother. The two brothers struggled for control of the gun and it went off. Investigators believe the shooting was accidental.

No charges have been filed at this time. The boy’s body was taken to a crime lab in Jackson, MS to determine if the cause of death matches up with the findings of the investigation.
