MEMPHIS, TN -- A 2.8 magnitude earthquake hit the Mid-South on Friday January 16, 2009.
The quake took place around 3:00 p.m. It was mostly felt in the Tipton County area. Garland, Henning, and Covington, Tennessee were six miles away from the earthquake's epicenter. Memphis is about 40 miles away from the quake.
