COLDWATER, MS - A dog killer is on the run in Northern Mississippi. Investigators say someone shot and killed two family pets execution style. One of the dogs was a Labrador-Chow mix. The family tells myEyewitnessNews.com the 2-year-old dog was found shot in the head and stuffed underneath the front porch.

That same day, Candace Holland says her 110 lb. German Shepherd was shot and killed execution style.

“We got her out of the pond and realized she had been shot through the neck twice and once through the skull. She was ten. The dog was floating in the pond.”

Both families tell myEyewitnessNews.com no blood was found outside either home, leading both dog owners to believe their pets were killed somewhere else, then brought back. Both dog owners are also parents. Tonight they’re concerned for the safety of other pets and even their children.

“Anyone that is vicious enough to hold a pistol to a dog’s head and pull the trigger is mentally unstable and that’s my fear. If my child sets this person off next, who’s to say they aren’t going to shoot my child next,” asks Holland.

The Tate County Sheriff’s Department says it is investigating the killings and no arrests have been made.

Neighboring DeSoto County has stepped in and offered a reward for any information leading to an arrest. If you know anything about the dog shootings call DeSoto County Crime Stoppers at (662) 429–TIPS (8477).
