MEMPHIS, TN – Memphis police are looking for the person or people responsible for shooting a woman to death in the 4100 block of Summer Avenue.
Memphis police spokesperson Karen Rudolph says the body of 27-year-old Rebecca Looney was discovered by officers in the parking lot of the Dollar General store in the 4100 block of Summer Avenue, Sunday, November 29, 2009, around 2:20 a.m.
Rudolph says the motive for the shooting is unknown and investigators are still trying to figure out why Looney was at that location.
“Memphis Police Department homicide investigators believe someone in the public has information about this murder. They need that person to do what’s right and help hold the murderer accountable,” said Rudolph said in a news release.
