MADISONVILLE, Tenn. (AP) -- Investigators have charged an East Tennessee juvenile with attempting to kill his mother by stabbing her and forcing her to ingest toxic substances.
Monroe County investigators told WVLT-TV in Knoxville that someone called 911 to report an assault at a home in Madisonville and when they arrived they found a woman stabbed in the chest and arm. She had also been forced to ingest toxic substances and prescription medication.
Paramedics took the woman to the hospital and her son, a juvenile, has been arrested on a charge of attempted first degree murder.
The boy's name was not released. He was being held Tuesday pending a court hearing.
