MEMPHIS, TN -- Things are back to normal after a bomb scare at Memphis International Airport early Monday evening.
According to an airport spokesperson, an airport officer who was on routine patrol, noticed a suspicious bicycle outside of the terminal “C” area of the airport. The bomb squad was called in, and police evacuated the terminal's ticket lobby and baggage claim area. Incoming traffic to the airport was also stopped.
Authorities say the suspicious bicycle had a bumper sticker that read "This bike is a pipe bomb".
A thorough investigation ruled out any explosive device, and it is believed the pipe bomb sticker on the bike is the name of a folk-punk band from Pensacola, Florida.
Police are questioning the owner of the bicycle at this time.
