VICKSBURG, Miss. (AP) -- A 19 year-old Coahoma County man has apparently drowned after a 16-foot crew boat overturned in the Mississippi River.
Warren County Coroner Doug Huskey says the body of Jeffery Allen Holloway was recovered Thursday night several hours after the boat overturned.
Authorities say Holloway's father, 42 year-old Jeffery Dale Holloway and 33 year-old Adam Bennett of Helena, Ark., were pulled from the water by boats from the Ergon Marine terminal as they tried to swim shore. They were treated for minor injuries.
Huskey says the body of the younger Holloway was later found inside the cabin of the boat. Authorities believe he was trapped inside when the vessel capsized, just north of the river bridges. An autopsy has been ordered.
