GREENWOOD, MS - The body of a Tipton County man missing since May 6th was discovered Saturday, May 16, 2009 in Greenwood, Mississippi, about 128 miles south of Memphis.

A Walmart employee found Howard Piner inside his pick-up truck in the back of the store's parking lot.  Investigators say they discovered a gun and a note next to Piner but declined to give any further details.

They did say it does not appear that he died from foul play.

Piner's body has been sent to the crime lab in Jackson, Mississippi where the medical examiner will determine exactly how he died.

The father of three was last seen leaving his home in Brighton, Tennessee on his way to a doctor's appointment in Memphis.   Piner never showed up for that appointment.
