MEMPHIS, TN--The man acused of committing the first murder of the year in Baltimore, Maryland, is behind bars after being arrested in Memphis.
The U.S. Marshal's Service Mid-South Fugitive Task Force arrested Christopher Williams at a Hickory Hill apartment complex Friday morning. Williams is accused of shooting his cousin at a Baltimore bar. The cousin, Mario Williams, was shot outside of Rumors, the bar he owned, and died a few hours later. According to police, Williams fled the scene and went into hiding.
The Mid-South Fugitive Task Force received a lead from Baltimore that Williams was in Memphis. A short time later, Williams was arrested at an apartment in the 6300 block of Oregon Dr. in Hickory Hill.
Williams is being held at the Shelby County Jail where he will await extradition back to Baltimore to face murder charges.
