HUTTIG, Ark. (AP) -- Authorities say a Huttig man drowned after his motorized wheelchair flipped on top of him in a watery ditch.
The Union County Sheriff's Office says 57 year-old Leamon Earl Thomas was driving his wheelchair near his home Friday, December 12, 2008, when he got stuck in the grass. Authorities say Thomas tried to move the chair forward when it rolled down the side of the ditch and flipped, pinning him face down underneath it.
Thomas, who suffered from hip problems, drowned in a small pool of water.
