MEMPHIS, TN – Authorities say a wreck involving four vehicles in East Memphis has sent at least eight people to the hospital.

It happened at Highway 64 and Collierville-Arlington Road, near Highway 385, around 3:30 p.m., Friday, February 20, 2009.

According to a witness, a construction truck pulling a trailer ran a red light when a silver Chevy Impala hit the trailer and flipped. A passenger in the car was trapped for a half hour. The witness says two other cars tried to avoid the wreck, but also crashed.

Authorities say at least eight people have been sent to area hospitals. Three people were transported in critical condition.
