MEMPHIS, TN – Memphis police say a woman was shot in the leg during a carjacking in Southeast Memphis.
According to investigators, it happened at Showcase and Thousand Oaks Drive around 11:30 a.m., Monday, January 12, 2009.
Police say a man got out of a Nissan car, driven by a woman, and walked up to the victim while she was stopped at the intersection. The man then pulled a gun, shot the woman in the leg and drove away in her blue 1993 Cadillac Fleetwood, with 23 inch rims.
There were two other women in the victim’s car when the crime happened. Police say they were not hurt. The shooting victim was taken to The MED in non-critical condition.
No one has been arrested for the crime. Investigators say there are three suspects, the woman who was driving the car and two men. Police say they are looking for a 1993 blue Cadillac Fleetwood with 23 inch rims. Investigators say the man who stole the car is in his mid-20's, between 150 to 180 pounds. He is five feet, 10 inches tall and has gold bottom teeth.
