GERMANTOWN, TN – A Mid-South woman says she was robbed by two men after getting her morning cup of coffee. It happened June 5, 2009, outside of a Starbucks in Germantown, just after 10:00 a.m. The woman says once she left the store and got in her car, a man was in the back seat waiting for her. According to police records, the woman says the man tied a rope around her neck and forced her to drive away. That’s when she noticed a second robber in the passenger’s seat, armed with a knife.
The three were riding around for about twenty minutes when the woman says the men took off and ran towards a post office in Germantown. The woman tells police they got away with her engagement ring and a pair of earrings. Investigators are still looking for the two robbers.
Investigators are looking for a man and woman who they say were in the Starbucks minutes before and minutes after the robbery victim. The two people are not suspects, but investigators are hoping the two noticed anything out of the ordinary in the area. Investigators say they’ve also checked security cameras from local businesses, red light cameras, even MATA bus cameras, but still no leads.
