SHELBY COUNTY, TN – Sheriff’s Deputies have released a sketch of the man they say raped a woman inside her Cordova apartment. The picture shows a masked man with much of his face covered, except piercing eyes. Shelby County Sheriff’s Spokesperson Steve Shular hopes it’ll be enough to generate leads and the possible whereabouts of the rapist. The rape took place on June 27, 2009 at the Camden Grove Apartments off Houston Levee Road in Cordova, TN.
The serious crime took place in the same neighborhood where Trudy Adams lives. “It’s scary thinking people are walking around trying to hurt you.” Investigators tell myEyewitnessNews.com the man walked through the unlocked front door of the victim’s apartment, held her at gunpoint during the rape, and then took her credit cards and cell phone.
Investigators are not saying if the victim’s credit cards or cell phone have been used since the attack, only saying it’s still part of their on-going investigation. Deputies tell myEyewitnessNews.com no other rapes have taken place in that area.
