MEMPHIS, TN -- Friends, family and people who didn't even know Lisa Davis are still shocked and saddened by her death. Bartlett police discovered Davis' body Tuesday, March 10, 2009 around 5:00 p.m. It was in a field off Highway 385 and Salem Road in Lakeland. A suicide note from a Lakeland man who lived just miles from that field lead police to the location of her body.
A special vigil will be held Wednesday, March 11, 2009, at 6:00 p.m. for Lisa Davis. Everyone is invited to go to the Sweet and Sassy hair salon in Cordova to remember her. She used to work at the salon.
There's also a special "Searching For Lisa Davis" group that was set up on Facebook earlier this week when Lisa went missing. So far, it has close to 1,000 members.
Now many of those people who were hopeful she would be found, have written their goodbyes to her.
Here are some of the most recent posts on the Facebook page: Angela Avery writes, "It's still not setting in that you're gone. I kept thinking to myself I wish that I had given you a huge hug Wednesday when you came in to bring me junior mints."
Melissa writes, "My heart goes out to the friends and family of Lisa Davis. I can't imagine the pain that they are going through. please know that you are in my thoughts and prayers."
