MEMPHIS, TN – Memphis police say a man was shot in the back of the head during an argument over a carwash.

According to a police affidavit, 26-year-old Marcus Brewster confronted the victim, Patrick Burnett, about washing vehicles in the area of Maury and Henry. Police say Brewster accused Burnett of stealing his business. At some point during the argument, investigators say Brewster pulled a gun and fired several shots, striking Burnett in the back and the back of the head. Burnett was taken to The MED in critical condition.

The incident happened on July 14, 2008, according to the police document. Police say Burnett identified Marcus Brewster out of a six person photo lineup on August 20, 2008.

Brewster was recently arrested and charged with Attempted Second Degree Murder and Employment of a Firearm During the Commission of a Violent Felony.
