BARTLETT, TN - Bartlett Police say a mother left her 3-year-old daughter alone in the car for 45 minutes to an hour Thursday evening, July 2, 2009. The child was left in an unlocked outside a Walgreens at the corner of Stage Road and
Bartlett Blvd. Police took the child out of the car and Bartlett Paramedics checked her out. They say she’s fine.
Police say after they got the girl out of the car, it was another hour before her mother showed up. They say the mother was not inside the Walgreens.
The child’s mother, 30-year-old Wafaa Abdalla Khartoum, is charged with Child Abuse and Neglect. She will more than likely spend the weekend in jail without bond until a court hearing Monday.
The child will be released to DCS officials.
