There is an incredible young lady in the care of Youth Villages right now who is eager to be a treasured part of a very lucky family.  Her name is Shanee.  “I love to play basketball, dance, and sing,” Shanee told us.

This 16 year old is a great student who holds herself to very high standards.  Most of the time in school Shanee finishes first; instead of using her time to do other work or focus on herself, she goes right to the head of the class to help her teacher or the other students who may struggle with whatever subject is at hand.  “My favorite subject in school is math,” adds Shanee.   She is focused on her education, future in college, and her career.  “I want to be a layer,” she said and added that her aspiration is to be a judge.

For now, Shanee is very much a teenager, though disciplined and focused.  She does like playing games, enjoys hanging out with her friends and says she likes to spend girl-time helping fix other people’s hair.  If she weren’t so focused on a career in the judicial system, she says she’d want to go into cosmetology.

Shanee is bright and funny.  Now, she needs a family to help her on her path to success.

For more information on this impressive young lady, becoming a foster or adoptive parent, or other ways to make a difference in a young person’s life, call Youth Villages at 251-5000.

Waiting child is made possible by Wendy’s and The Dave Thomas Foundation.
