NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) -- The Tennessee Titans have signed running back Alvin Pearman to a two-year contract to help with their return game.
Pearman, who has returned both punts and kickoffs, was signed Friday morning because of the hamstring injury suffered by return man Mark Jones during the bye week. Jones was placed on injured reserve to make room on the 53-man roster.
Former St. Louis Rams receiver Dane Looker and receiver C.J. Jones also tried out Thursday along with Pearman.
Pearman served as the Jacksonville Jaguars' primary return man in 2005-06, and was in camp with them in preseason. For his career, Pearman has averaged 8.6 yards per punt return and 22.4 yards per kickoff return.
