PEARL, Miss. (AP) -- Pearl police says a 2-year-old girl was on her own at a local McDonald's for about an hour Wednesday when she was accidentally left behind by a church group.
Police Capt. Ron Conerly says a day-care group from United Methodist Church in Hazlehurst stopped by the restaurant around 11:30 a.m. with about 18 youngsters.
Conerly says it's unclear what the toddler did for an hour. The day care group picked the girl up.
A McDonald's employee said no one at the restaurant could comment.
Conerly says no charges will be filed by Pearl police.
Church pastor David Steveline declined to say how many day-care workers accompanied the children on the trip, saying only there were more than required.
