Two Memphis Teams Win State Volleyball Titles

SBA’s Lady Eagles cheered on their neighbors and the teams held a mutual victory celebration and posed together for their “Double Eagle” celebration.

Murfreesboro -- The St. Benedict Lady Eagles Volleyball Team won the Division II-AA State Volleyball Championship today by defeating Baylor in 5 sets, Father Ryan in 5 Sets and finally Father. Ryan in 3 sets to win it’s first-ever State volleyball Championship. The Lady Eagles , under Coach Angie Buchanan, swept the tournament going all the way in the winner’s bracket and finished the regular and post-season with a 37-11 record.

Just after SBA clinched their tournament victory, their Cordova neighbors, the ECS Lady Eagles also won a State Championship under Coach Tommy Danner (his first) by defeating Webb School, St. George’s and then Webb School, again.
