MEMPHIS, TN – The reward for information in the unsolved murder of a Memphis man has been raised from $1,000 to $7,000.

The murder happened at the Arbors of Century Center Apartments in the 6700 block of Century Arbor Place East, Thursday, July 2, 2009, just after midnight. Investigators say Glenn Phillips, 46, was unloading groceries from his car when two men walked up and robbed him at gunpoint. According to police, Phillips was shot and killed during the crime.

Memphis Homicide Detectives say they are working leads in the case, but are looking for more tips. A Crime Stoppers reward of $1,000 had already been offered for a tip that would lead to the arrest of the suspects. Family members raised an additional $6,000 bringing the Crime Stoppers Reward to $7,000.

Anyone with information on the suspect or suspects responsible can call Crime Stoppers at 528-CASH (2274), or send a tip through a secure website (www.528cash.org), or text a tip, typing the keyword “AWARD” to 274637 (CRIMES). A tipster receives a secret ID number so that his or her identity is totally anonymous. If an arrest is made, the citizen could become eligible to receive a cash reward of up to $1,000 from Crime Stoppers, as well as the additional reward money.
