MEMPHIS, TN – Memphis police are looking for a man accused of gunning down a 17-year-old in downtown Memphis.
According to Memphis police spokesperson Karen Rudolph, investigators are searching for 31-year-old Herman McKinley in the First Degree Murder of 17-year-old Toby Gladney. Rudolph says McKinley is also wanted for Attempted First Degree Murder and Aggravated Assault.
The shooting happened at 578 Handy Mall located in the Claiborne Homes Apartment Complex, Wednesday, September 23, 2009, around 8:30 p.m. Rudolph says when officers arrived at the scene, they found the 17-year-old suffering from a gunshot wound. Gladney was taken to The MED in critical condition, where he later died.
Investigators say shots were fired at a second person, 29-year-old Jimmie Williams. He was not hit by the gunfire, according to police.
