Good morning Mid-South. You can wake up bright and early to start your day off with April Norris five days a week on ABC24 and CW30. You’ll also find her out and about reporting during the week after the newscasts.

April has been living and working in Memphis since 2005. Before moving to Tennessee she lived in South Texas reporting on several high profile stories; from alerting Congress, to how easily illegal immigrants and possible terrorists enter the U.S. along the border, to covering drug cartel wars in Mexico. April started her on-air career in Northern Michigan as a reporter and weekend weather anchor then she moved to Toledo, Ohio. She says, “I got tired of freezing my you know what off and chiseling ice away to get into my car. So, I packed up and moved south where I enjoy it so much more.”

Since April has lived here in the Mid South she has dedicated her time volunteering for the Memphis Literacy Center teaching adults how to read and write. She also belonged to the Tiara Tea Society, an organization that raises money for little girls’ medical bills. April says, “We want young girls who have been through hard times to know how special and strong they are.”

When April is not working, she’s running to train for the St. Jude Half Marathon or hanging around town with her husband and friends.
